One of the greatest successes under the TELEFUNKEN brand is the development of colour television based on the PAL system, which is still used today in a large part of the world as the heart of TV sets.
Ever since the founding of the TELEFUNKEN company in 1903, the TELEFUNKEN brand has represented a German industrial jewel. Innovations and inventions under the TELEFUNKEN name and brand, such as in the field of PAL color television, significantly influenced the development of radio and communications technology and consumer electronics worldwide.

Technico-TELEFUNKEN precision approach system, the most advanced radar aid to pilots – With the aid of this state of the art radar equipment ground control at Shannon Airport can see at once if a plane, 16 kilometres from the airport, departs more than 18 metres from the correct course, or if its altitude is more than 9 metres from the glide path along which it flies to land. This is part of the Department of Transport and Power’s half million pound radar expansion programme in Ireland.
